Select Around the Gate and Its Workload
A gate motor should be selected from the entrance’s dimensions, mechanical condition and intended usage. Comparing model names alone can overlook the reasons one installation works well and another needs repeated adjustment.
Record the Mechanical Details
For a sliding gate, note the opening width, approximate weight, track, wheels and available side travel. For a swing gate, record each leaf’s dimensions, hinge positions, pillar geometry and clear opening path.
The gate must move appropriately by hand. Worn hinges, damaged wheels or structural misalignment should be identified before specifying automation.
Describe Usage and Site Exposure
Provide expected daily operations and busy periods. Explain whether the entrance serves one household, a compound or a commercial facility. Solid leaves and exposed locations require attention to wind loading and the structure.
Equipment ratings must be checked for the selected model. Maximum weight alone is not a complete description of suitability.
Include Safety and Controls in the Comparison
A complete proposal identifies operating limits, safety devices, manual release and the normal access method. Ask how these components will be installed and commissioned, and whether existing wiring or civil work needs attention.
Compare Complete Quotation Scopes
Separate operator supply from brackets, rack, controls, cabling, civil preparation and installation. Review the warranty and maintenance arrangements as well as the purchase price.
Send the survey information through our gate-installation service. For an operator replacement, include its label so we can compare compatibility and any required upgrade work.
